Abstract : Computations show that the most important binder variable affecting the adiabatic flame temperature of a magnesium-sodium nitrate composition is the relative amount of fuel and oxidizer elements in the binder compound. A much less important parameter is the energy of the binder molecule. It is also shown that the oxygen content of a binder is better expressed as net oxidizer valence divided by molecular weight, rather than as weight percent oxygen. (Author)
