Abstract : A gas containing radiating particles of varied sizes is considered. Apart from the total radiative transfer due to the contributions from all particles, there can also be a radiant interchange among particles of different sizes (different temperatures) within the same local region. It is the aim of the paper to give a quantitative description of the latter process and its effect on thermal relaxation. (Author)
