Abstract : Beam pattern measurements were made of the Branson Z-type transducers made of lead titanate zirconate crystal at frequencies centered around their specified operating frequencies, of 0.2, 1.0, 5.0, and 7.0 Mhz, respectively, and their bandwidths were thus determined. The experimental results obtained for the -3db beamwidth and full lobe angles agree well with the theoretical expectations. Interesting attenuation and side lobe resonances at upper and lower frequencies were observed, and are believed to be of significant value in use of such units for wide band signal work. (Author)
