Abstract : Of the epoxies tested, an epoxy composition based on ED-5 resin and containing 10% DI-BU phthalate, 10% polyethylene polyamine, 90% graphite, and 2% Al dust or 80% graphite and 5% Al dust, had the highest wear resistance and performance rating. Due to the low impact strength, lubricated bearings coated with the ED-5 resin compositions can operate at a maximum pressure of 10 KBF/sq cm at a sliding rate of 1.0-1.7 m/s.
