Abstract : Channels admit lubricant via a feeder from one or both sides into the space between the bearings. This tends to reduce the contact streeses which occur in this surface and this extends the assembly life. Feeder is fixed between the members forming a uniform slot gap with each of these. Oil is fed into the gap via channels and grooves gouged out of the feeder itself. As the members rotate, and oil wedge forms in the gaps which completely balances the force clamping them together. The oil is forcibly injected as it leaves the gap directly into the rotation interface and thus considerably improves the lubrication effect. (Author)
