Abstract : Penetration factors lambda are calculated for l-forbidden M1 transitions for the nuclei 119,121,125Sb, 129,131I, 143,149Pm. The penetration matrix elements (M sub e) are calculated in a unified model, according to the general formulae of Church and Weneser. Gamma transition matrix elements M sub lambda are calculated from experimental half-lives and total conversion coefficients. Where experimental K-conversion coefficients and L-subshell ratios are available, experimental penetration factors lambda are determined from these data. The L-subshell ratios are re-analysed with the use of the penetration effects. (Author)
