Abstract : A study was made of the effect of temperature and salinity of sea water on its dielectric constants and the coefficients of emissivity of the sea sauce, as well as the effect of the salt concentration on specific conductivity and the debye absorption of sea water. Salinity exerts an appreciable effect not only on the imaginary part of the dielectric constant of sea water, but also on its real part, something which had not been noted before. The determined dielectric constants of fresh and sea water were used in determining the indices of refraction and absorption. (Author)
