Abstract : The temperature difference between a steadily flowing fluid and a solid sphere due to viscous dissipation is determined for the case of simultaneous conduction and radiation. The sphere is assumed to be sufficiently small so that Reynolds number, Peclet number and Bouguer number are much smaller than one. The results are obtained by an asymptotic expansion.
