Abstract : Conditions for the existence of the adjoint a first order vector valued linear differential system with boundary conditions represented by a matrix valued measure are derived when the system is viewed as an operator with domain and range in L(sub n, sup p)(0,1), 1 < or = p < infinity. The adjoint is then constructed when these conditions are satisfied. Both operator and its adjoint are shown to be normally solvable Fredholm operators and a brief analysis of their states and spectra is given. (Author)
