Abstract : The pyroelectric coefficient of Lead Zirconate Titanate (Pb(Zr(0.65)Ti(0.35))O3 + 1 wt% Nb2O5) has been measured at temperatures from 10C to 100C. Values obtained from samples poled at ambient temperatures and repeatedly heated range from 0.022 microcoulombs/sq cm./degree C at 10C to 0.40 microcoulombs/sq cm./degree C at 100C. Samples electrically poled at ambient temperature require temperature annealing before reproducible pyroelectric values may be obtained. Samples electrically poled at higher temperatures provide larger pyroelectric values which are also reproducible. Exposure to gamma radiation did not produce noticeable differences in the pyroelectric coefficient for up to 1 million R total dose of 60Cobalt. (Author)
