Abstract : The paper presents an application of an extended mixing length model including (a) the assumption of an universal curve for the mixing length, and (b) a correction for taking into account the viscosity effects on turbulence near the wall; this application concerns the determination of similitude solutions for the turbulent boundary layer equations, in the general case of compressible fluid with pressure gradient and heat transfer at the wall. Established for a broad range of Mach numbers, of wall temperatures and of pressure gradient parameters, these solutions provide velocity and total enthalpy profiles of the boundary layer, and also the skin friction, heat transfer and integral thicknesses characterizing the boundary layer. Detailed results are presented as velocity and enthalpy profile graphs and as tables for the main characteristics of the boundary layer.
