Abstract : The digital flight control system (DIGIFLIC) program is an advanced development program of which the principle objective was to study the feasibility of advanced flight control using a digital processor as the main computational element. The studies and analyses conducted during this program resulted in the determination of a set of basic system requirements which could be implemented using present day technology. Investigation of future technology showed that significant advances can be expected which will reduce the size, weight and power required for such a flight control system. The results of these studies are contained in two volumes. Volume 1 contains a detailed summary of the objectives and results, analytical studies and system studies. Volume 2 contains the software studies, system specification, simulation studies and appendices. (Author Modified Abstract)
