Abstract : A deconvolution technique for the removal of the bubble pulse response of an underwater explosive source using a synthetic direct signal is presented. The synthetic direct signal is constructed on the basis of an accurate measurement of the actual bubble pulse period of the response signal. The technique can therefore be applied in situations where it is not possible to record the direct signals. Although the method is not perfect, a significant reduction of the bubble pulse response is obtained. (Author)
