Abstract : Crosshead bearings of internal combustion engines are known which contain a base rigidly connected with a connecting rod and having a concave cylindrical bearing surface which contacts the corresponding convex cylindrical bearing surface of a cross piece having two cylindrical bearing surfaces on the other side which are located on its ends and interact with the corresponding surfaces of bushings rigidly connected with the base. In these bearings, all bearing surfaces have a common axis. However, such a design does not assure sufficiently dependable operation of the bearing. The proposed device differs from those known in that the bearing surfaces of the cross piece and the surfaces of the base and bushings which interact with them have radii of equal value, in which regard the surface of the cross piece which contacts the base has a larger radius than the concave surface which contacts the convex bushings.
