Abstract : The work covered in this report is part of a continuing problem calling for the development of noise interference measurement systems capable of detecting and measuring the magnitude of noise interference fields, over specific frequency ranges, within and exterior to the hull of a submarine. If electromagnetic field magnitudes exist, the extent, nature, and source of the interference must be determined. The measuring system described is a current, state-of-the-art configuration used for noise interference measurements in the 20-cps to 20-kcps frequency range. It is a wide-band, transistorized preamplifier and loop combination which feeds detected interference data to magnetic tape recording equipment. (Author Modified Abstract)
