Abstract : A nonlinear analysis is presented for the stability of an inviscid semi-infinite liquid layer adjacent to an inviscid gas moving with a uniform supersonic velocity parallel to the liquid/gas interface. The results show that all disturbances are unstable, as in the linear theory. Moreover, the growth rates of all disturbances increase with increasing amplitude. (Author)
