Abstract : The Murayama hypothesis for the molecular events involved in the interior of a sickling hemoglobin red cell is based in part on his construction of a precision scale model of the hemoglobin S molecule. Murayama, drawing in part upon the molecular investigations of others has provided a molecular definition of disease and a description of molecular interaction which has pathogenetic significance in sickle cell disease. The cited references in this bibliography are all directly derived from the Murayama hypothesis either by deduction or inference. These scientific communications represent advances at the clinical level.
