Abstract : Midair collisions continue to be a serious hazard in Air Force flight operations. Various aeromedical factors affect one's ability to detect another aircraft in time to avoid a collision. The review discusses these factors and illustrates the role of these factors in an accident. It also considers the actions the crewmember should take to obtain the maximum benefit from the capabilities he does possess and thus reduce the risk of a midair collision. (Author)
