Abstract : The research results are described for the final two years of a systematic experimental and theoretical study of the finite deformation of annealed metals. Reference is included to the development of an experimentally based set of modified incremental constitutive equations and path independent parabolic loading surfaces which are found to provide a detailed description of this class of solids. The measurements are from experiments on tension-torsion of tubes subject to a wide variety of radial and non radial loading paths as well as experiments in double compression on cubical specimens. Reference is also made to new studies of second order transitions in these response functions which have been shown in this research to occur at a fixed set of eight critical shear angles.
