Abstract : The inflight intravenous bottle holder was designed to meet an urgent operational requirement for a simple method to suspend intravenous fluid bottles at the patients' litters on multimission aeromedical aircraft. Specifications required the item to be simple, safe, compact, lightweight, durable, and inexpensive. Configuration selection followed developmental test and evaluation of several prototype models. Preproduction prototypes of stainless steel and aluminum were subjected to operational test and evalution by aeromedical personnel of Military Airlift Command, Pacific Air Forces, and Tactical Air Command. The evaluations indicated the holder was satisfactory and recommended that it be standardized for routine use in Air Force aeromedical evacuation missions. (Author)
