Abstract : The purpose of this report is to critically review and improve the hazard classifications and packaging specifications of chemical materials listed in Air Force Manual 71-4. The items in Chapter 4 of AFM 71-4 ARE EVALUATED TO DETERMINE WHETHER THEY ARE JUSTIFIABLY GIVEN SINGLE DAGGER STATUS OR, IF NOT SO DESIGNATED, WHETHER THEY SHOULD BE. A general inconsistency is found in the use of single dagger status in most of the commodity groups. As a consequence packaging recommendations are made for all commodities, with special attention to those carrying single dagger status. (Author, modified-PL)
