Abstract : TH N JAn Investigation of Errors Introduced into Meteorological Calculations through Use of the Hypsometric Equation.Research and development technical rept.,Miller,Walter B. ;ECOM-5481DA-1-T-061102-B-53-A1-T-061102-B-53-A-18(*meteorological phenomena, weather forecasting), (*meteorological instruments, errors), radiosondes, hypsometers, wind, atmospheric temperature, barometric pressurewind velocity, rawinsonde observations, error analysisThe nature of errors introduced into meteorological calculations through use of the hypsometric equation is discussed with particular regard to the error behavior of the rawinsonde. It is found that significant effects on wind velocity and variability studies are to be expected from this source. This investigation is the third in a study of the error behavior of the rawinsonde as it is used in the investigation of mesoscale variability. (Author)
