Abstract : The fourth volume of the Exploding Wires series, like its predecessors, contains the proceedings of a Conference on the Exploding Wire Phenomenon, the fourth, held in Boston in October of 1967. The volume contains papers on the relation of shock waves and exploding wires; or uses, particularly as exploding bridge wires; on chemical reactions induced by wire explosions; and on the general theory of the wire explosion itself. In addition, several new areas are covered. There are two papers on the resistivity-density relation in wire explosions. There are papers on the use of lasers and also on the use of x-rays for the study of exploding wires. Spectroscopy as applied to wire explosions is discussed in four papers.
