Abstract : An analysis of Army-wide requirements for officers in logistics military occupational specialties reveals that career opportunities do exist for some commodity specialists, but there are even greater requirements and opportunities for functional specialists. As of 31 March 1972, the Army required almost 5500 commodity specialists and over 8400 functional specialists with a total requirement of 17,314 officers for logistics positions.
