Abstract : Human subjects on the Dynamic Environment Simulator (DES) were exposed to levels of 4, 5, 6, and 7 G in a variable back angle seat. A standard G valve (MIL-V-9370D) mounted on the seat back pan was used to furnish G-suit pressure. The seat back angle, and hence the G-valve, was run at angles of 30, 45, 55, and 65 degrees to the resultant force vector. Although the opening points and suit pressures are altered, the G-valve functions in a reproducible and usable manner. Pressure curves and subject responses are reported. (Author)
