Abstract : The productive Intermediate maintenance man-hours per month available from the active Destroyer Tender force was compared to likely intermediate Maintenance man-hour workloads required by the proposed PF fleet. It was found that the PF fleet will absorb, as extreme values, between 10% and 30% of tender capacity, with the most likely values falling between 15% and 26%. In addition, the ability of the tender to perform required work within the limited time period of a PF intermediate level maintenance availability was found to be adequate. A graph to determine intermediate maintenance workload for the PF fleet as a function of the workload generated by the PF and the Organizational Level maintenance man-hours available is given, assuming that intermediate and organizational maintenance man-hours are interchangeable.
