Abstract : The coefficient a(2) in the empirical equation delta n/c(s) = nu + a2c(s) for the refractive index increment of a polymer in solution is reported. Experimental values of a(2) may be used to obtain the partial derivative of v(s)/c(s), in favorable cases, and estimates of a(2) itself can be made. The dependence of a(2) on temperature and wavelength can also be found accurately. (Modified author abstract)
