Abstract : Line emission from DCN was recently detected in the direction of the Orion Nebula. If DCN and HCN are formed and destroyed at the same rate, the D to H ratio is 0.006. This ratio should result in a detectable recombination line of deuterium. The author searched unsuccessfully for the D92alpha line and placed a limit (D)/(H) > 0.0016. The present results suggest that HCN and its isotope have different rates of formation and destruction. (Author)
