Abstract : A three color, digitized photometer was installed at the Goose Ionospheric Observatory in Oct. 1971 to support and complement the AFCRL radio propagation experiments. The goals of the photometric observing program are twofold: To supply data on airglow and auroral intensity to the radio experiments and to detect and measure the characteristics of high latitude wavelike disturbances in the ionosphere as evidenced by airglow and auroral emission intensity variations. The first year's experimental effort, devoted principally to apparatus shake down, exploratory measurements at zenith, and preparation and verification of the data reduction and analytical programs required is described.
