Abstract : The matrix isolation technique has been used to obtain thermodynamic data for some high temperature, low-molecular weight species of current or potential interest in rocket propulsion performance calculations. The matrix isolation technique is now a well established experimental procedure for obtaining optical absorption spectroscopic data for high temperature polyatomic species. Good spectroscopic data were obtained for the following species - AlOF, AlOCl, BOF, BOCl, BOBr, LiAlF4, Li2Al2F8, NaAlF4, LiBeF3, Li2BeF4 and Be2F4. From these data, molecular structures and vibrational fundamental frequencies were obtained, in most cases normal coordinate analyses were performed. Eight scientific papers were published on this work and are presented in full. Attempts were made to obtain spectra for BOI, Be2OF2, BeOH and AlOH, but were not successful. (Author)
