Abstract : The paper suggests that the military, with its vast resources participate more closely with its civilian counterpart in National Civic Action projects. The purpose of a National Civic Action Program would assist in the achievement of varied national objectives. To list a few: To construct a cadre of prepared specialists, capable of making available its organization, skills, and leadership to civilian authorities for the accomplishment of social and economic needs when their limited resources fail; to attract the youth of the nation to new, stimulating motivations in national service; to restore the image of the military through closer identification with its civilian base; to utilize and manage military manpower that would otherwise be idle; to extend government help to educational, medical, and engineering projects that would otherwise be left undone or incomplete.
