Abstract : WINDOW is a formally-specified text editing program which exploits the graphics capabilities of CRT terminals. Terminal screens are divided into several windows. Each window displays text from any of a number of simultaneously open files. Through the notion of linked pointers, operations upon one file may invoke corresponding operations upon other files.
