Abstract : The book is devoted to questions of treatment of victims of chemical warfare agents. The greatest attention is devoted to neuroparalytic toxic agents in view of their extremely high toxicity. The book presents brief characteristics of chemical weapons, as well as the peculiarities of a focus of chemical contamination depending on the nature of the toxic agent employed and the method of military employment. Special attention is allotted to organization of medical aid in a focus of contamination and at the stages of evacuation. Methods of self-help and mutural aid for prophylaxis of toxic agent injuries are considered in detail. The characteristic amounts of medical aid in a focus of chemical contamination, in a first aid detachment as well as the basic trends in medical aid in specialized out-of-town hospitals are considered. The book makes use of relevant material from the foreign press. It is intended for physicians and civil defense service medical workers. (Author)
