Abstract : ENT 70550 which is a candidate repellent, was evaluated on New Zealand White rabbits for its potential to cause skin irritation. The data obtained serve as a basis for making a recommendation concerning its potential use on humans. This recommendation is intended only for guidance in further entomological testing of this compound. Based upon the interpretation of this test, ENT 70550 should be used only on human skin found by examination to have no abrasions, or may be used as a clothing impregnant. If the compound might come into contact with abraded skin, a prophetic patch test should be conducted on human skin to determine primary irritant potential. (Author)
