Abstract : In the rapid heating of the liquid, the presence of prepared vaporization nuclei in the system does not prevent a temperature rise of the liquid at which an intense formation of fluctuation and incipient steam bubbles occurs. The enormous mass of small bubbles begins to play the dominant role in the development of the thermal and hydrodynamic processes. The authors call the phenomenon itself explosive boiling. In the report a short discussion of the general questions of the physics of boiling is given along with an analysis of the features of explosive boiling as a limiting case.
