Abstract : Grumman Aerospace Corporation performed a pilot study for the Naval Weapons Engineering Support Activity to determine the feasibility of developing mechanical equipment reliability prediction techniques. The results of this study substantiate the feasibility of establishing a standard for mechanical equipment reliability prediction. Continued studies are recommended on additional and varied aircraft mechanical equipment, to expand the scope and data for the eventual development of a mechanical equipment reliability handbook.
