Abstract : The report describes 2 tubular diesel hammers with an evaporative system of water cooling designed for driving mainly heavy reinforced concrete piles with a weight of 8,000 - 12,000 kg and higher, and also reinforced concrete pile-casings with a diameter of 600 - 800 mm. The hammer starts at a temperature of the surrounding air down to -30C without the use of auxiliary starting facilities. The evaporative cooling system ensures prolonged operation without a substantial reduction of the lifting height of the impact part when the air temperature is increased up to +30C and higher.
