Abstract : A majority of the nations in the world today are passionately involved in nationbuilding within their own boundaries. The monograph, discusses the development of Puerto Rico with respect to the fundamental tasks faced by governments in developing countries. Puerto Rico is an example where increasing public participation in the political process has accompanied amazing economic growth. The political and social development within the Commonwealth exemplifies the value of honest, devoted, and responsible governmental managers. The unusual rapport and stimulus exerted by government on private enterprise plus the overall integrated planning and adherence to priorities that encourage growth cannot fail to inspire other nations.
