Abstract : The report contains a study of the thermal characteristics of the system of equations being used at Texas A+M University for investigation of a tropical forest atmosphere. This system of equations is solved on a general purpose analog computer and provides temporal predictions of wind, temperature, vapor pressure, and tracer concentration. Simulations of the diurnal temperature wave only are compared with typical temperature variations observed under both clear and cloudy skies. Results indicate that the simulated temperatures have general characteristics which are consistent with the major trends in the observed temperatures. (Author)
