Abstract : A numerical solution procedure is derived for one-dimensional stationary 'real gas flow' across a normal shock wave and in the wake of this wave. The following phenomena are taken into account: Non-equilibrium chemical reactions between diatomic and atomic species; non-equilibrium of the innermolecular energies of rotation and of vibration; transport of momentum, mass, and energy due to viscosity, thermal conductivity, mass diffusivity, and thermal diffusivity.
