Abstract : The study investigates the relationship between managerial style and certain personal characteristics of managers. A sample of 200 American managers is utilized for this purpose. The necessary data were collected using a personal values questionnaire, a biographical questionnaire and an inbasket exercise. The managers were first classified into three different managerial style groups. The three groups were then compared for significant differences among them on 13 personal characteristic variables.
