Abstract : A method is proposed for joining graphite products in melted or liquid hydrocarbons (paraffin, alcohol, mineral oils, and others). The connection points are heated to high temperatures by high-frequency currents, induction currents, arc discharge and other heat sources. As the liquid or melted hydrocarbons come in contact with the heated surface of the graphite or carbon part, the liquid hydrocarbons dissociate with the liberation of carbon on the part, which provides a tight and strong connection between the two graphite parts without disturbing the homogeneity of the properties of the entire graphite product.
