Abstract : A problem has arisen from the fact that many communications systems staff officers with over ten years of service are trying to utilize their electron tube era education and training to cope with problems in transistors or integrated circuits. The rapidly changing technology causes these communications officers to become obsolete and requires further training to stay abreast of the most current equipment and techniques. The report considers how certain areas of the civilian program could usefully be adapted to provide alternative training programs within the USAF communications field.
