Abstract : The corrosion behavior of the alloys of the Ti-Ta-Nb system in 5% HCl at 100 degrees was investigated. It showed that as the Ta and Nb content in the alloy increases to 15-20% the corrosion rate drops slightly (by 1.5 to 2 times) and only upon adding alloying elements does the corrosion rate drop sharply. Under these conditions Ta increases the corrosion resistance of the alloys more effectively than Nb.
