Abstract : The concept of using a precision survey type of electronic radio aid to navigation by typical Coast Guard buoy tender personnel and the resulting accuracy of buoy positioning and ease of operation is examined. Various modes of operation are presented and advantages and disadvantages of portable and fixed equipment is delineated. Implementation problems and conclusions are presented. (Author)
