Abstract : The need for a low-cost antenna window that can withstand moderate aerodynamic heating conditions led to an investigation of several candidate materials. Transient insertion loss measurements were obtained during the application of a thermal environment in an arc-heated wind tunnel at the NASA/Langley Thermal Facility. The primary purpose of these tests was to compare the performance of candidate window materials in the presence of different ablating heatshield materials. (Author)
