Abstract : TASDA, acronym for Tactical Airborne Sonar Decision Aid, is a computer simulation designed to select optimum sonobuoy pattern spacings given enviornmental parameters and submarine mode of operation. The program was designed to operate in a Tactical Support Center for briefing of flight crew personnel. Analytical methods and statistical models are used to investigate the TASDA program with a view towards modifying it for future aircraft inflight utilization. Some improvements are made to the TASDA model which reduce program run time and core storage requirements. A modified version of the TASDA program is developed as an initial step toward an inflight model. (Author)
