Abstract : The developmental phase of a new small volume high temperature fluid lubricant evaluation stand is described. This new fluid stand, which operates at 300 psig with temperatures to 1000F, is followed from its final stage of assembly through a series of problem/solution areas to the point of being a reliable piece of fluid evaluation equipment. The major problem areas discussed are fluid leakage, temperature control, reservoir bellows failures, valve failures and seal inadequacies. Design changes and component selection required in the solution of the various problem areas are detailed. (Author)
