Abstract : A general analysis of coplanar lines on a dielectric substrate is presented. The field equations are written in terms of Hertzian potentials and boundary conditions are applied to generate a system of linear equations. These equations are then Fourier transformed and reduced to a form where a computationally efficient solution can be obtained by the method of moments. Any desired accuracy may be obtained by expanding the transform of the current if the problem is one involving strip conductors of the electric field if there are slots. A one term expansion products very good results. Both wavelength and characteristic impedance of the transmission line structure are obtained. Theoretical and experimental results are presented for coplanar strips. (Author)
