Abstract : The results of engineering design, fabrication, and testing of filament-wound tubular-reinforced composite main rotor blades for the UH-1D heli-copter are reported. Three blades were fabricated using wet winding, two using principally S-glass roving/epoxy and one using principally PRD- 49 roving. A design concept for making a highly redundant foot-end attachment was developed and the fabrication feasibility was proven. The ability to calculate the structural characteristics was verified with-in the testing and fabrication tolerances. Another achievement in the program was the development of computer program design and analysis techniques compatible with the inherent tailorability of the rotor blade. (Author, modified-PL)
